JOB DESCRIPTION (MAIN JOB TASKS)

Job Purpose:
  • Contributing to hospital and related departmental quality initiatives by conducting periodic audit of the hospitals.
Major Accountabilities:
  • Facilitate relevant committee meetings, prepare agenda, minutes, and circulate them.
  • Conduct various internal audit in various departments including Open Medical Records, Consents, Kitchen, Infection control and Facility.
  • Prepare reports on audits and forward them to immediate superiors for corrective and preventive measures.
  • Monitor the implementation of preventive measures.
  • Compile quality indicators from various departments periodically.
  • Prepare trend lines on these indicators and forward them to superiors.
  • To ensure that all departments have a policy and operations manual and all processes are carried out as per the guidelines laid out in the policy
  • Spearhead the quality team in accreditation programs like JCI / NABH certification.
  • Monitor and trace all incidents reported periodically.
  • Liaise with various departments in case of any incident.
  • Assist in conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
  • Compile and forward details of incidents reported on a periodic basis.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training throughout the organization as per accreditation standards.
  • Ensure that all functions and policy matters related to the Quality Management System (including JCI/ NABH/NABL) for hospital accreditation are established.
  • Train and communicate established quality and patient safety issues to all staff.
  • Coordinate and organize measures throughout the organization and provide support with measurement activities related to hospital priorities.
  • Support data collection throughout the hospital by assisting Staff with data collection issues such as creating forms to collect data, identifying which data to collect, and how to validate data. Maintain, analyze, and update statistical data and/or control charts.
  • Participate in available and relevant external quality assessment schemes (EQAS), and/or interlaboratory comparisons.
  • Prepare summary reports of internal audits and corrective and preventive actions for management review meetings.
  • Liaise with external parties on matters relating to the quality management system.
  • Prepare all procedures in compliance with the standard and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Recommend policies to the Management that meet the objectives and needs of the hospital.
  • Ensure the upgradation and implementation of Quality Management Systems throughout the hospital through various National and International Quality Standards applicable to the Health Care Industry and plan for future accreditations.
  • Ensure improved medical record keeping including audits through the Medical Audit Committee and Hospital Infection Control Committee constituted by management.
  • Work towards improving patient satisfaction through objective measurement.

JOB DESCRIPTION (MAIN JOB TASKS)

  • To provide accurate reports as per latest guidelines, to patients, within the turn-around time.
  • To practice subspecialty reporting in histopathology.
  • Participate in MDTs for case discussion.
  • Discuss cases with clinicians on need-basis to provide advisory services on cases, choice of examinations, use of laboratory services and interpretation of reports etc.
  • Interact with patients on need-basis to address their queries and concerns with empathy.
  • Keep updated on latest developments in the field and apply that knowledge for providing quality diagnostic services.
  • Responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory.
  • Represent the laboratory in Conferences, CMEs etc
  • Have a healthy and cordial relation with al the staff in the lab.
Quality
  • To actively participate and maintain accreditation standards in the laboratory as per CAP, NABL ISO 15189 requirements.
  • To familiarize oneself with the quality and technical SOPs and follow.
  • To update all quality related records and maintain them.
